Longxan is a district located about 44 kilometers off Road 13 South, situated between Vientiane and the Phu Bia Mining area in Xaisomboun Province. For many travelers, it is simply a transit point—a stop for trucks heading toward the capital or to the mining site. Because of this, few people take the time to notice the educational challenges faced by the young students living there.
The local school, built with support from Korean aid five years ago, still lacks many essential learning tools that students need to build a brighter future. On 19 January 2026, the Lao Children Legacy Foundation helped fill these gaps by providing the necessary educational materials, offering new hope and better opportunities for the children of Longxan.
